Setting up your Vinted account

Download the Vinted app or sign up on the web. You need an email address, a username and a postcode for shipping. Adding a profile photo and a short bio measurably helps — buyers browsing a closet are deciding whether you look like someone who will actually post the parcel.

Verify your payout details before your first sale rather than after. Vinted holds funds in your Vinted Balance until you withdraw, and an unverified account delays that first withdrawal.

Photographing items so they sell

Photos are the entire buying decision on Vinted, because the feed is a wall of thumbnails. Anything that does not read at thumbnail size is wasted effort.

Shoot in daylight, near a window, against a plain wall or a bed with a smooth cover. Avoid flash — it flattens fabric texture and shifts colour, and colour accuracy is the single most common cause of returns and poor reviews.

Writing a title buyers actually search

Vinted's search is largely literal. Buyers type the brand, the item and the size, so the title should lead with exactly that, in that order: Brand, item, colour, size. "Zara linen blazer beige UK 12" outperforms "gorgeous summer jacket" every time, because nobody searches the second one.

Fill in every structured field — brand, size, condition, colour, material. These drive the filters buyers use to narrow a category down, and an item missing its size simply will not appear when someone filters by size.

Pricing so items move

Search the item on Vinted and sort by sold to see what people actually paid, not what other sellers are asking. Asking prices on unsold listings tell you nothing except what did not work.

Price slightly above your true floor so you have somewhere to go when an offer arrives, but not so far above that you never get the offer at all. Most items settle around 10-20% below the asking price once offers are accounted for.

If an item has a lot of views and no offers, that is a pricing signal, not a photography one. Views mean the thumbnail worked and the price stopped them.

Shipping without a printer

You do not need a printer. Vinted supports label-free drop-off at InPost lockers and most courier shops — you show a QR code and they print the label for you.

Post within one working day. Dispatch speed is the most common thing sellers are rated down for, and your rating is what a buyer looks at before committing to a bundle.

What happens after you list

This is where most sales are won or lost. A listing gets its biggest burst of visibility in the first few hours, then decays. Buyers who message you are usually comparing two or three similar items at once, and the one who replies first tends to get the sale.

If you are only checking Vinted a couple of times a day, you are answering questions hours after the buyer has moved on. Sale, message and offer alerts are the cheapest fix — you find out the moment something needs a response rather than the next time you happen to open the app.
